It’s a panto…but not always as you know it…

It’s a bumper Christmas if you are looking for local shows to go to.  We have it all, from the tradition to the dark and twisted.  Listen in to our interviews over the next month to make your choice.  Or you can go and see them all because as we know, going local is cheaper!

Inspired by the 19th century ballet La Sylphide, CRASH, is a retelling of European folktale through impressionist, mix media pop-conceptual circus. Yep. Dark and scary contemporary circus from Chivaree Circus for an alternative Christmas outing.

A bow and arrow in his hand and the keenest eye in all the land, who else would it be but ROBIN HOOD: THE ARROW OF DESTINY.  Where you didn’t expect this though was in Theatre Peckham.  Still in rehearsals when we spoke to them, this sounds a bit different.  And we like that.

The fantastical world of Dr. Seuss is coming to our Southwark Playhouse in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL. The mischievous Cat in the Hat and a host of other much-loved characters in this larger-than-life musical extravaganza. We speak to the Director and the Choreographer and we don’t really know where to start!

Who doesn’t know the story of PETER PAN? Sometimes, that’s what you want at this time of year. A pantomime that ticks all the boxes of expectation and does it with panache.  Richmond Theatre will do it for you and we speak to Robert Lindsay, just as he received the script! Yes, the Robert Lindsay…

Jacob Marley is dead but still gets to tell his version of what happens to Scrooge in A CHRISTMAS CAROL – AS TOLD BY JACOB MARLEY (DECEASED) at the Time and Leisure Studio in Wimbledon.

ArtsWatch airs Monday, Tuesday and Thursday just after the 6.30pm news headlines.  You can also find us on Soundcloud/Wandsworthradio to listen again if you missed us live.
